Not Really For Us
I think the Woodlands is really good but it just wasn suitable for us. It was extremely busy and loud, which is ok if you're young enough to enjoy it! We were not really looking for nightlife. Its not the right place for a romantic getaway for couples or anyone looking for peace and quiet. Families with children just don't fit in here. Also I think the rooms are overpriced for what they are and we found it difficult to get a parking space because it was the weekend. Its ok if you're looking for something lively but its nothing out of the ordinary.

Well Keep Coming Back
We are locals and have been here before for mini vacations. Well keep coming back for sure, as the food was terrific and the banquet staff gave good service. We booked into a streamside room, which was very clean and comfortable. The bed was king-sized with lovely bedding and the room was large and had all the furniture we needed, and there was a hair dryer. There was also a sun deck but my favorite was the walk in shower, which was also very clean. The reason for this visit was my High School reunion. The room was ready on my arrival in the afternoon and the staff had remembered to leave another key for my husband who was following on. When the reunion was over, we went to Crescenzos Brick Oven Eatery and Espresso Bar and they were still serving meals despite it being Midnight or thereabouts. We got back to our room in the wee small hours but the place was still nice and quiet.

I Love this Independent
I move around a lot and I book in at the Woodlands a few times a year, mostly on weekends. I prefer it here because it makes a change form the boring chain hotels. The Woodlands is independently run and theres a lot to do here. The weekends are lively, even having a great dance club, which you wouldn't anticipate in this sort of area. I like to relax in the cigar bar on the sun deck. Its got a great view of the river. It can get a bit noisy but my room is always quiet. Parking can also be a problem on a weekend but not for me, as Im staying over. Ive always found the front desk staff to be nice and helpful. My room is always spotless and they refurbish regularly so everything is pristine, and the bed is comfy. I didn't have the opportunity to try out the new sushi bar or the brick oven pizza restaurant but Ive heard good reports on both. I enjoy a little flutter at the Mohegan Sun Casino nearby. Ive learned theres a shuttle service to it, so Ill investigate the next time I go. The Woodlands is good every time and Ill use whenever I visit the region.
