Brilliant
We had a huge suite with a double bedroom, a kitchen and 2 bathrooms plus living area. There was extra sleeping capacity with fold up beds had we wanted them. We were very close to downtown and a short drive from the free parking for the slopes.

The Rabbit Ears Motel has an enjoyable mix of modern furnishings and a retro feel. There was a pleasing old fashioned but efficient service from the staff and they saw to my every request. Our room, in common with much of them, gave a view of the beautiful river.

Perfect in every way!
Modern amenities but a warm old fashioned welcome make this motel a favorite of mine. The rooms have nice décor and they are clean. The staff take pride in their work and my room had everything I needed including lots of TV channels, a microwave, and a fridge.

What a great place to stay! This is a nice motel- reminds me of the home town type of motel and service from years gone by, but a modern property in every way. It's right across from the hot springs, and you can buy your pass for at the motel for $8 (vs $15). Rooms were attractive and very clean. Service was important (lot's of little things like giving you the rundown on all the local's specials at dining spots, coming back to find the wet swimming suit I had set on the tub was ran through a dryer and was now folded and on the chair, etc) The stay featured high speed internet, a full lineup of tv channels, and a good breakfast Rooms have refrigerators, microwaves, hair dryers, coffee makers with decent regular and organic coffee etc. .It's locally owned, and staffed by people who care. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Brilliant
We stayed here on March 18 2009 and had booked a room. We were surprised to see it was fully booked when we arrived but even more surprised by our room. Maybe because it was all booked we were given a massive suite! Really recommend it - a double bed, sofa and chairs, two bathrooms, and kitchen. We could have had more people stay as there were spare fold up beds and lots of room to put them out too. It's right on the edge of downtown and a short drive to the free ski slope parking lots.

Cute motel in town.
For a motel this place is very nice. The room was clean and stocked with towls. There was a microwave and small fridge in teh room. The staffw as friendly and I felt like we paid a fair price. The building backs up to a wlaking path along the Yumpa river which was nice. There are RR tracks on the other side of the river but I didn't hear whistle blow until 7am. The motel is walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Have breakfast at Winonas. The continental breakfast at the motel is meager at best. Some cold cereal, instant oatmeal, toast and very little fruit.

if you're like me and you appreciate the simplelife, you should definitely stay at the Rabbit Ears Motel. You can literally park your car and not start it again until you leave town. Just about everything you would like to do in Steamboat is either within easy walking distance or a short, free bus ride away (the bus stop is at the corner of the parking lot). The Rabbit Ears Motel sign serves as a unique landmark as you enter Steamboats Old Town district, which rich not only in history but also in shops, restaurants and events. Many of the motels rooms overlook the scenic and placid Yampa river which is flanked by a wide and well-maintained exercise trail. the most memorable thing about Rabbit Ears is the nostalgic experience they deliver from the moment you arrive. No bratty twenty-somethings at the counter trying to recite their customer service lines they learned last week. No worries about your reservation getting lost in the computer. Thats because they log it on a sheet on the counter with pencil, old-school style. The service is distinctively old-school too - as in, you get it. The front desk folks I engaged with didn't think twice about honoring any request I put before them. While much of the Rabbit Ears experience is nostalgic in flavor, don't expect to give up any conveniences. Your room will have a remote control TV, hair dryer, iron, mini-fridge and microwave. No, it won't have a jacuzzi or wet bar. Even the carpet and furnishings are updated. And you get one of those new-fangled electronic swiper keys to enter your room. Give the Rabbit Ears Motel a try! Its an experience you won't soon forget.

Great- More Than I Expected
I had read mixed reviews about this motel elsewhere, but it was a pleasant surprise! We had two rooms overlooking the river and the view was gorgeous. I enjoyed the sound of rushing water right outside my door. The staff was extremely polite and more than accommodating. The beds were comfy and the room was big, inviting, clean, and relaxing. If there was one drawback, it was that there was no pool on the premises-- you have to go to the one across the street and pay $8. Also, the breakfast was a little sparse. Despite that, I would definitely stay here again. The kids loved it!
