This world-class resort casino, just outside Reno, is family-owned and operated. The son of Basque immigrants, John Ascuaga built the Nugget from a roadside coffee shop that opened in 1955. Entertainment every weekend includes headliners such as Lyle Lovett, the Oak Ridge Boys, and Hall and Oates, as well as boxing matches and other events. The 700-seat Celebrity Showroom offers classic seating in booths tiered down to the stage. The Rose Ballroom seats 2,000 for entertainers such as Clint Black, Chris Isaak and Wynonna. The Casino Cabaret plays jazz, blues, and rock and roll. Live jazz artists play in the Orozko Lounge. Minimum age at check-in is 21.
