Kill Devil Hills

The Kill Devil Hills of North Carolina was thus named for a bottle of rum that was washed ashore during its founding days in the colonial period. It is now the center of vacation fun for the outer banks region and is the most impressive and well traveled getaway spot for North Carolina outer banks visitors. It was named the “Birthplace of Aviation” as the Wright Brothers flew their first heavier than air plane at this spot. Since then there has been erected a giant memorial to this feat which is now the major landmark in Kill Devil. There are endless beach activities here from shopping, surfing, sailing, cruising, great restaurants, and fantastic rental homes.
