Kamaole Nalu Oceanfront by Alii Resorts

We have just come back from the best vacation, my family and I have ever been on. My wife, myself, and our three young children all loved the Nalu. Ok, Ive read some negative reviews and can agree with some of the points. As for saying it is noisy, well, they should have booked somewhere else. The units differ in quality but its not a luxury resort after all. Admittedly, our unit wasn't as clean as it could have been on our arrival. That said, the beach was nice and clean and the water was children friendly, and it took us seconds to get there. We had a great time snorkeling there and we saw a seal and sea turtles. The views are more than youd expect for the price and the pool, although small, was well looked after and clean. The resort is made up of 2 Bedroom condominiums and there was plenty of space for us. Other properties may have a more direct view of the ocean but thats not worth paying extra to me. The kids loved the restaurants over the way and we enjoyed having the local stores for our needs. Kihei has enough amenities that you don't need to go anywhere else. it really was fantastic value, when you take the location into account. Kamaole Nalu has more going for it than anyone could say against it.

We first came to this location in 2006 and we love it as a base for exploring Maui, so we were happy to return. The resort is adjacent to Kamaole Beach II in Kihei. Every unit has a view of the ocean and its very peaceful. The owners and staff were really friendly to us. We enjoyed the constant sunshine and it made for a relaxing time, seeing everything that was going on in the resort. Whale watching was a highlight. Our unit this time, could do with some refurbishment and redecoration but that hasn't put us off coming again.

My wife and I and two kids have just got back from our regular vacation. We return because we love the beachfront location. Its got good access for the beach and the sunsets are awesome. Theres a new caretaker who maintains the place well, including the barbecue and the pool, but stays out of your way. You have to wait in line for the BBQ sometimes but at least, its clean. Our unit this year was a bit more private and quieter, and we have had a problem with noise from the street when weve stayed here before. The grounds could do with some new planting, and our unit was in need of redecorating and some replacement furniture. Also, it could have been cleaner. Our kids would ruin it anyway! The kitchen isn that well equipped and theyve never got round to mending the broken screen from the lanai. The staff at Alis Resorts, where wed organised the rental were there to meet and greet us but they never checked we were ok after that. Weve been thinking about booking another location or another unit that has had some work done for next time. However, because its such good value and on the beach, we may just come again.
