Coconut Mallory Resort and Marina is located in Key West, the southernmost part in the continental United States, originally known as the primary base of operation against pirates many decades ago and today is a top tourist destination.  The area is just three short hours by car from Miama and makes for a great side trip for visitors to Southern Florida.  Key West is popular because it has a great beach-town atmosphere, an open and tolerant population, great nightlife, fantastic beaches and marine activities and of course, terrific weather! 

There is a lot to do in Key West. If you are a history buff, you can see Fort Jackson, a Civil War era fort and learn about the area's role in stopping piracy in the 1800's.  If you are a style maven you can enjoy the pink colors of the Caribbean palatte.  There are art galleries and shopping and lots of beach and water activities. There is a gerat aquarium and the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum is worth a visit.  Personally, we love the sunsets, which offer great photo opportunties as the sky lights up with blazing reds and oranges.

The resort features large studios, one bedroom (1BR) and two bedroom (2BR) suites. These suites offer spacious living rooms with large comfy couches and efficiency kitchenettes.  The kitchens are equipped with standard cookware, plates, glasses, utensils and the like, making it easy for you to cook some meals in your suite.  This is a great money-saver while on vacation.  For some meals, such as breakfast, you can save both time and money by making use of the kitchen.  In addition to the living room and kitchenettes, the suites at Coconut Mallory have big comfortable beds.  The suites are decorated in island pastel colors and have a tropical feel to them, which is very appropriate and in keeping with the flavor of Key West.  Most suites feature private balconies, which are a nice way to get some fresh air and smell the tropics!

The resort is a great place for kids large and small.  There are two large swimming pools, a jacuzzi, a clubhouse, several BBQs for your use and a childrens play center.  In addition, the marine features 18 boat slips.  The front desk can help guests identify and arrange activities in the greater Key West area.

One thing to note -- at our resort the minimum age required at check in is 21.
