Rockley Plumtree Club

We were booked on a cruise and needed a 1 night stay in a hotel beforehand. After browsing Trip Advisor, we settled on the Plum Tree on Rockley Golf Course because it seemed to fit our needs. We booked and the Reservation Manager, Kristine Hoad quickly sent back confirmation and all the information. She also recommended the names of two taxi drivers, quoting $20 for the fare. Because we arrived at the airport so late, we hopped in the first cab we saw. When we reached the hotel, the driver charged us $60 and seemed to think that was reasonable for four people at that time of night. We didn't have the energy to argue. Anyway, we were pleased with the hotel, the room was spotless, and we could see the golf course from our balcony. When I told Ms. Hoad about the cab fare, she agreed it was unfair and she took it upon herself to complain to the cab company on our behalf. The driver gave us a $40 refund. I highly recommend it here.

Our weeks stay at Rockley Plum Tree Club was very enjoyable. Its not the most luxurious accommodation in Barbados, if thats what you're looking for, but the service was fantastic. The lady in the office, called Ann, was extremely helpful and she had organized a pre-paid cell phone on our arrival, at my request. She also advised us on places to go when we got there. We had rented a car but didn't feel confident enough to drive ourselves straightaway. The security guard met us and helped us with everything. After calling a cab that never came, the security guy kindly gave us a ride. Unfortunately the heavy rain caused our room to flood, as there was a problem with the pipes. Ann came to our rescue and asked us to select another room and we were moved without delay. There was only air conditioning in the bedroom. The living room had just a fan but the incoming breeze helped keep it cool anyway. The kitchens were basic but we had all we needed. The location is convenient for everywhere including some beaches, which are really good. Ann will even organize any tours you want to go on. Barbados is on our list for a return vacation and we would happily go back to the Rockley.
