Castle Rock Resort and Waterpark

We had a great stay at Castle Rock. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bunk beds were great. The kids could watch what they wanted to on their TV giving Mom and Dad a little peace! The water park was a plus, too. We will be back.

Despites some bad reviews we have read, we didn't find anything wrong with Castle Rock. I have to respond in defense of the hotel because we had such a great time. Right before we went I read these reviews and started calling around to other places to see if we could find someplace better to stay. All of the hotels were booked up because a convention was in town that weekend so we nervously traveled to this hotel anyway. It was all fine and had a friendly staff. I wish I hadn't listened to the bad reviews because it would have saved me time calling around. Youll enjoy your time also.

I read some bad reviews of this place elsewhere and was thinking about cancelling my reservation but just decided to give it a try anyway. There are always kinks to work out when a new hotel opens but Im glad that I gave it a chance because I really had a nice time. It felt very accomadate from the time that we arrived. All the stuff that you need to just relax and be on vacation. I would go again if I get a chance even for a few days because it has that forget about your cares vibe to it. Its a waterpark afterall. Its supposed to be fun and playful.

The room was decent but the chlorine in the waterpark was really strong. Im glad that the place was clean but its hard to enjoy the water when the chemical smell is burning your eyes. Don even think about opening your eyes underwater. Really painful. We were wondering why there was no hot tub at a waterpark. I wanted a hot water option also for when it turned cold at night. The restaurant didn't have a lot of options so be prepared to leave the hotel if you want a good meal. It was a fine time but could have been better.

For the price, this was the best. A clean place in a good location goes a long way. The service was really great since we needed help with our tour group that was visiting the area. They made sure we were completely taken care of. Our baggage was taken care of before we even had the chance to think about it and the attentive staff seemed eager to answer any questions we might have. There is a breakfast buffet and if we would have known about it when we made our reservations we would have gotten that with our room as well. It makes sense. I liked my bed and since the rooms were cleaned daily everything always was fresh. The new end of the hotel is the way to go. I can't speak for the older part.

Since there weren't a lot of people staying there when we were there my 1 and 3 year old loved playing in the pool. The water was clean and warm and we were able to keep them close without a lot of unwanted splashing from other swimmers. It was also nice that the pool had lifeguards but they didn't seem that attentive. I asked one a question and couldnt understand her answer. She had to repeat it because she was mumbling. The rooms were big and clean and nice to have a TV for the kids. Liked that breakfast was at the hotel. It took a while for the warm water to get going in the morning. All of it was at the waterpark?
