"A celebration of the wonders of nature in the last free-flowing river in the contiguous United States," the Annual Pascagoula River-Nature Festival celebrates the natural wonders of the region.
Rather than rides and sticky foods, this festival features inspirational and educational activities to draw attention to the Pascagoula River, the last free-flowing river in the contiguous United States. The event offers eco-tours that highlight the natural resources, bird migrations & river critters in over 170,000 acres of natural lands surrounding the Pascagoula River.
Held at the Pascagoula Audubon Center, the event is designed to engage locals and eco-tourists alike about the wonders of the high-quality habitats and wildlife that can be found in the lower Pascagoula River basin in Jackson and George counties, Mississippi.
Before the event, guests are invited to participate in the community-sponsored clean-up events scheduled as a lead up to the festival.
At the festival, visitors can take experience any of five community-sponsored events, including hands-on activities focused on local flora and fauna, nature and boat tours of local environments as well as attend workshops and clinics designed to help folks learn more about the natural world.
The event invites families to get together and discover, connect and conserve the wildlife and wilderness for future generations to marvel at and enjoy.
