This year's Wooden Boat Festival will be a culmination of the arts and a celebration of the water. Hosted at the Pirate’s Cove Marina and Restaurant, the events of this much anticipated 2 day festival will kick off on May 1st 2010 at 10:00 AM. Bring your friends and family of all ages for $5.00 admission (kids 12 and under get in free) and races, contests, music, and food all weekend long.
Geared towards the boat builder, there will be a host of showcased wooden boats for the guests view and purchase, and is a great opportunity to get started with a craft that is both enjoyable and profitable. Taste Chet’s famous fried mullet plates and take in the flavors of the southeast with other great signature dishes. There will be several races throughout the weekend including the Sharpie Sailboat Race on Saturday and the Race for the Skull on Sunday.
Local artists will get a chance to show off their talents with many vendor booths throughout the festival. Come and bring your best works, or just peruse the grounds for a unique and community supporting piece of art for your home. Great for the whole family and a wonderful introduction to the Orange Beach Alabama region, the 13 Annual Wooden Boat Festival is an ideal spring time getaway.
