Summer Big Bear Vacation Activities

Big Bear is located in Southern California. Specifically, it is in the San Bernardino National Forest, which is northeast of Los Angeles. In the summer time, the weather is moderate but with plenty of sunshine. Here is some information on what people planning on taking a summer Big Bear vacation can do while there.

A good spot the whole family can visit is Meadow Park. There, things like picnics and barbeques can be held. Also, there is a playground there along with a tennis court and an area to play the game horseshoes. In addition, there is also a softball field, a volleyball court, and a beach area for swimming.

For those that want to take in some history, there is the Big Bear Historical Museum. Here, people can learn all about the history of the area. Inside it contains things like antiques and artifacts. There are also photos and furniture from the past. There is a book store inside the museum for those that want to learn more information.

The Big Bear Discovery Center offers many things. For those that love doing outdoor activities, this area has a hiking and biking path. People are also allowed to camp here and wander the forest. Professional tours and programs are also offered in this area in addition to environmental education activities. There is a nature themed gift store where souvenirs can be purchased as well.

For those that are looking to spend some relaxing time on the water, there is the Big Bear Marina. Here, people can rent boats that fit up to twelve people in them. Fishing boats are also available. People can take tours here, jet ski, wake board, and also fish.
