Florida Events Calendar

A fresh list of awesome activities has been added to our Florida events calendar! The weather is warming up, so there's no better time to check out all the outdoor fun that Florida has to offer. If you need an excuse to take that well-deserved escape that you've been dreaming about, these three upcoming events will surely motivate you.

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival
Nature lovers, listen up! This 75-day event began on March 3 and runs through May 16. Disney's Epcot Theme Park celebrates spring by promoting its gardens, flowers, and topiaries (many Disney-themed, of course). Live music and educational courses complete the festival. On weekends, top horticulturists offer gardening tips, and public demonstrations give onlookers a glimpse of gardening techniques from around the globe. For 2010, a community garden project will be part of the festivities, as well as past-year favorites such as the Tinker Bell-themed Pixie Hollow Fairy Garden--every little girl's heaven!

Star Wars Weekends
Walt Disney World kicks off its annual family-friendly Star Wars tribute on May 21. Disney's Hollywood Studios hosts this fan-crazed event that celebrates everything and anything related to the Star Wars saga. Put this item on your Florida events calendar for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through June 13. Visitors flock to Disney on Star Wars Weekends for the rare memorabilia, presentations, and shows. The Jedi Training Academy is an opportunity to brush up on your lightsaber skills and prepare for battle with Darth Vader, himself. Make sure to keep your camera handy because you never know when a parade of Jawas or Stormtroopers will pass by. Admission to Star Wars Weekends is included in the cost of the theme park.

Zellwood Sweet Corn Festival
Memorial Day weekend will mark the 36th year of this Zellwood celebration. Rides, arts & crafts, and live entertainment will satisfy everyone in your vacation party. It's a carefree good time. Despite all the corn involved, the festival is a great place for relaxation--not a corny one--to make a note of on your own Florida events calendar.
