What's your ultimate dream job? Runaway Bride and Groom, an Irish travel agency, is billing a new contest as just that--the Ultimate Job in Ireland. In honor of the launch of its new wedding and honeymoon website, the company is teaming up with The Irish Times to find a couple to sample the best wedding and honeymoon destinations around the world.
In addition to the luxurious aspects (drinking champagne, hammock lounging, testing out white sandy beaches, etc.) of the dream job, itself, a salary and work duties are also part of the package for the lucky couple. The team will be paid 20,000 euros (roughly $27,000). CNN reports that they will have to blog about their experiences a few times a week and write for The Irish Times once a month.
The winners will write about resorts and world-class destinations in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Over 1,000 couples have already applied who would like to commit to six months of expenses-paid travel and accommodations.
After 2009's "Best Job in the World" campaign in Australia, Runaway Bride and Groom came up with the contest idea as a marketing tool and a way to incorporate their target demographic into their research process. It seems to be a win-win situation.
Free travel captures the attention of so many types of people. Travel writers will be especially keen to this opportunity since they get to combine their two passions in a romantic way. It will be a dream come true for those looking for a life-changing experience.
RunawayBrideAndGroom.com has already received 100,000 hits since announcing the contest. Interested parties are curious to find out all the details. The gig is set to start in mid-May, and you have until April 7 to apply for the ultimate travel dream job!
