Throughout the year there are tons of great Palm Springs event to make it out to, but one in particular takes the cake for up and coming beginning of the year happenings. Wexler Weekend and the 5th Annual Modernism Week join together for an incredible journey through Palm Springs' art and structural history. Everyone knows that Palm Springs is famous for its incredible post modernism works of architecture, and nothing shows off these works of art like this upcoming week of events.

Starting February 12th, Palm Springs California will be hosting Modernism Week, which will feature an adventure through the forming of the modernism roots that make up the historic buildings and residences of the region. Starting on January 22nd, architect Donald Wexler's life and biography will be featured in a never before seen film. This will mark the beginning of the festivities as his works of architectural genius shaped this area of the county.

To finish off these events, on January 24th, several of these Wexler designed celebrity steel homes will be opened for public viewing so both visitors and natives will be able to get a sample of the famous works of this infamous designer. Soon after the Palm Springs Wexler Weekend, Modernism Week will kick off with a tour of the homes and a book signing and a new release book Patrick McGrew featuring the works of Wexler. My Desert gives details of these Palm Springs events and explains the history and importance of Wexler and his contributions to the post modern feel that Palm Springs provides to this day.
