
It may be time to plan that vacation to the Amazon now as the TimesOnline UK reported Monday that Google Earth may have helped find the lost city of El Dorado and goes on to say:
"For nearly 500 years, explorers have hunted in vain for a lost city now with Google Earth, it may have been found. Geometric shapes dug into the earth (see photo) were first noticed by a Finnish archeologist flying over the Amazon. Since the time of the conquistadors, the legend of an ancient, lost civilization deep in the Amazon forest has beguiled hundreds of explorers and led many to their deaths. There are many books and movies out there on the Lost City of El Dorado. Disney even got into the mix with its popular animated kids movie The Road to El Dorado. Explorers and Archeologists are sure to flock to the amazon now to find it more evidence of this ancient civilization and odds are if they find something tourists will flock there like crazy to catch a glimpse of the Lost City of Eldorado.
