Copper Mountain Village Race SeriesMany of the racing series hosted at Copper Mountain are for top qualifiers only and Olympic hopefuls, but the Copper Mountain Village Race Series is a chance for any team of friends or co-workers to come out for some friendly competition. The series has been around for 30 years now, and is open to any age and skill level. You will find everyone from the seasoned pro, to the novice at the Village Series. The series takes place over a period of 10 weeks (January – March) throughout the ski season, with a total of nine races mixed throughout the weekdays.

Registration begins each week at Jack's Restaurant from 8:30 to 9 AM, and the competition begins at 10 AM sharp (don't be late). The events on tap for this year will be the Slalom and Giant Slalom (GS). The Slalom is traditionally the shortest of the races and is comprised of tight turns/gates, fast-paced action, and multiple courses. The GS for those who are unfamiliar, offers fewer gates, wider turns, and is generally a good all around place to start for the novice. After all skiers have made their runs, their times will be tallied, and the quickest competitors will be announced the winners for the week.

After each Copper Mountain Village Race Series will be a lively after party, featuring spirits, video replays of the day, and plenty of free giveaways to take home with you.
