Winter Park Christmas Eve ParadeA good time is guaranteed at the Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks celebration on December 24th, 2009. The traditional Yuletide festivities take place at the base of the Winter Park Ski Resort in Colorado and it’s a free event.

Carol singing around the bonfire at the base, next to the Zephyr Lift, kick off the proceedings followed by the torch bearing procession by skiers down Lower Hughes Trail at 5.30pm. Santa Claus and his helpers will also join the procession. A fireworks display will light up the Winter Park Ski Resort and snowcats, decorated in traditional Christmas colors, will descend the slopes in a Christmas tree formation.

At the conclusion of the show at 6.30pm, Christmas Eve interdominational services will commence at the lower level of the Balcony House and a Catholic Church service will take place at the West Portal, Level 4. Services will last for approximately one hour.

Fireworks are awesome when the sky is clear and you have the mountains as a backdrop.
