Does spending a week on the breath-taking emerald green coastline of Panama City Beach for fun, safe time with the family sound like a nice break from the usually stress and grind of every-day life? Then pack your bags and head on down to Florida for this year’s Emerald Coast Cruizin! This annual week-long event is going to be full of great music, cool cars, free food and drinks, great shopping opportunities, parades and more entertainment than you can imagine lasting from November 9th 2009 through November 14th!
Arguably the most important aspect of Emerald Coast Cruizin is that ALL of the proceeds for this year’s event go to supporting the Girls’ and Boys’ Club of Panama City, Florida. If you are not familiar with the Girls’ and Boys’ Club, it is a great organization dedicated to providing a positive place for kids to learn and grow. This is very important with the growing number of young people that are left with no adult care or supervision. They offer a wide variety of programs and services that are aimed at the healthy development of boys and girls by giving them a safe environment and fun activities to focus on and keep them out of trouble.
Emerald Coast Cruizin proudly supports several other charities as well including but not limited to The Breast Cancer Association and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Though Emerald Coast Cruizin is best known among most for having showcasing THOUSANDS of hot rods and classic cars, you do not have to be a car jock to have the time of your life! There are so many other events and shows that you can enjoy alongside the deep roar of rumbling motors. One of country music’s favorite bands, Diamond Rio, and Rebel Syndicate will be performing at this year’s Emerald Coast Cruizin.
The show will take place at the Panama City Marina Civic Center on Friday November 13th at 7:00pm. Discounts will be available for registered vehicles in the Emerald Coast Cruizin car show. Emerald Coast Cruizin is excited to have Bill Brooks, an amazing Elvis impersonator, returning this year and playing several shows all throughout the festival. Make sure to check the events schedule and catch one of his performances. Elvis is not the only famous face you will recognize at this year’s Emerald Coast Cruizin!
Keep your eyes peeled for Don Knotts (Barney Fife from TV’s The Andy Griffith Show) and Sam Memmolo from the Speed Channel’s Two Guys Garage. Several officials from the NSRA (National Street Rod Association) will be at Emerald Coast Cruizin this year so if you haven’t had your street rod inspected for safety, this will be a great opportunity for you!
