En Fuego (Spanish for "an epic Saturday evening" if you ask anyone in Copper Mountain!) is a free street party in the Village of Copper, offering an excuse to celebrate the various holidays which come along each ski season. The events surrounding En Fuego are entirely family friendly, and they traditionally begin around 6 PM and conclude around 8 PM. To keep attendees warm and fuzzy through the late evening hours, bonfires are generously scattered throughout the nights events. Fire jugglers are not an uncommon sight, as well as air shows, stomp and rhythm performers, ice sculptures, art/graffiti, dog sled teams, and the signature grand finale fireworks display over the Burning Stones Plaza.
On Saturday, November 28th, En Fuego celebrates thanksgiving weekend with their annual tree lighting in the village. The event kicks off with the spectacular display of Santa and his elves dropping down from the sky (skydiving) into the festivities. Once Santa and his elves touchdown they will continue with the annual lighting of the Copper holiday tree. For the next several hours, guests will be entertained by various street and fire entertainers, concluding with the Torchlight Parade and fireworks display.
Thursday, December 24th, En Fuego continues a long standing holiday tradition of the torchlight parade, put-on by Copper Mountain's expert ski instructors. The torchlight parade, if you have never seen it, is a monthly parade at Copper featuring a line of skiers, each holding a torch, weaving back and forth down the mountainside in unison. The entire village of Copper is decorated from ground to roof with plenty of sparkle and cheer, and the night traditionally concludes with the Christmas grand fireworks display.
Saturday, January 16th, En Fuego celebrates MLK (Martin Luther King) weekend. Attendees will be treated to bonfires, street entertainers, fire performers, torchlight parade, and fireworks finale. Saturday, February 13th, is Copper Mountains celebration of the Mardi Gras (Fat Saturday), Valentines Eve, and the Chinese New Year all together. In other words, it is just a good excuse for people to have fun for whatever reason they deem worthy. The street party will feature all the traditional celebratory highlights, including ice skating, live entertainment, and the torchlight parade.
Saturday. March 13th, is En Fuego's themed celebration of Saint Patrick's Day, appropriately deemed O'Fuego at Copper. Everything will be turned green in the village, as Attendees are treated to the sound of live music, and shamrocks. Bagpipe musicians march the Copper streets offering a taste of the old Irish country, while the bars in the area offer traditional drink specials. There is only one place you'll find the traditional celebration of En Fuego in Colorado, and that's at Copper Mountain.
