This favorite Beaver Creek family tradition has been going on for nearly three decades and gets better and better as each year passes. Start the evening off with a fun and delicious gingerbread competition, and bring your best! You will see some of the most big and beautiful gingerbread houses that you have ever witnessed, and will get a chance to bid on them in the Tree Lighting and Gingerbread Competition silent auction.
The proceeds of this gingerbread competition will go to the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) which works to recruit and train community members to serve as court appointed advocated for neglected and abused children. Help out the local children while having lots of fun with the annual Beaver Creek Gingerbread Competition! After the judging, enjoy a monumental tree lighting ceremony at 5:30. Men, women, and children young and old will all gather to witness a big beautiful winter celebration that pays homage to all holidays of the season. Once the tree is lit, the fireworks will start and the real celebration starts!
The Beaver Creek Tree Lighting and Gingerbread Competition will continue on with a complimentary holiday movie for the whole family on the big screen. Last but not least, finish the whole night off with two hours of free ice skating at the Black Family Ice Rink. The Beaver Creek Tree Lighting and Gingerbread Competition is an entire evening full of holiday fun, and starts on November, 27th, 2009.
This free event is an amazing way to spend time with your family this holiday season, while meeting new friends and travelers and participating in an evening full of great activities for young and old.
