For skiers hitting the slopes this season, a Beaver Creek ski trip is definitely this year’s hot ticket, particularly for those looking to get the most for their vacation dollar. A Beaver Creek vacation isn’t just the best skiing in the country; it’s also a great value for the whole family on lodging and activities that everyone can enjoy, and all in a gorgeous mountain setting.

Beaver Creek ski conditions couldn’t be better as thousands of annual visitors can attest. The area is famous for high snowfall rates (around 350 inches), and outstanding ski and snowboard instruction. The mix of terrain is second to none and is widely regarded as delivering the best experiences in North America. The resort also takes mountain maintenance very seriously.  They employ fifty-two operators who work ten-hour shifts, seven days a week to keep all of the slopes runs and trails groomed to perfection, and that’s well over 140 runs on 1600 acres.

Beaver Creek Mountain has a variety of runs for all skill levels and all serviced by over a dozen lifts.  For the beginner there are the gentle slopes of Bachelor Gulch, while the open trails of Larkspur and Rose Bowl are perfect for the intermediate. Experts have the steep mogul runs of Grouse Mountain.

If interested in lessons, the Ski & Snowboarding School is open daily and offers half and full day lessons for both children and adults. You can also book private lessons and they also offer Adventure Sessions, Specialty programs and Nordic classes.

For cross-country skiers and those wanting to do some snowshoeing, Beaver Creek’s Nordic Center can handle all your equipment rentals and also provides lessons. If you haven’t tried either of these before I really encourage you to. Both are fun and provide you and your family a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of this resort.

The Beaver Creek ski experience is about fun for the entire family. Kids will love the terrain park, half pipe and rails and in the village the whole family can visit the ice rink. Bring your own skates or rent on site. Adults are $15 and kids under twelve skate for $8.

You won’t be at a loss for first class Beaver Creek lodging during your stay. For example The Borders Lodge is located slopeside and provides ski-in/ski-out convenience as well as the unique village to village ski experience that connects Beaver Creek, Arrowhead and Bachelor Gulch. In nearby Avon, at the gateway to the Beaver Creek ski area you have the Lodge at Avon Center, with its classic blend of mountain and European architecture. There are plenty of Beaver Creek condo rentals as well in Arrowhead and Avon.

Towards the end of the day the fun is just getting started in the village. There is shopping to do,  restaurants to sample and a party like nightlife to look forward to. In fact, a Beaver Creek ski vacation is actually a feast for all the senses.
