Since the recent Christmas Day bombing scare the government has been cracking down even more on preventative measures with new TSA regulations. It seems that these new laws are directly in response to this incident as many of the changes are geared towards carry-on luggage as opposed to checked items. Aside from a greater presence in security personnel in airports across the country as well as airlines that service international airports there are also increased regulations in the specific types of items and amounts of materials that are allowed to be transported.

Surprisingly the TSA has been relatively quiet about its new procedures. This may be chalked up in part to the fact that if future attacks are to be planned in would make it much easier for the potential terrorist to skirt around the new laws. What has been updated of these new laws can be accessed on the TSA website for assistance in your planning for future travel.

In general, the TSA is urging people to arrive at the airport much earlier than they would have in the past to ensure enough time for security check in. Here are the main changes in TSA regulations:

Passengers cannot leave their seats within approximately one hour of the plane landing at its destination.

No PA announcements will be made in regards to the plane's position or its location in comparison to landing.

Passengers will not be allowed to access their carry-on, magazines, cellular devices, personal snacks, or any other personal items within the one hour landing period before landing.

Pillows and blankets will be collected within this one hour pre-landing period.

All in flight entertainment systems will also be disabled within this hour.
