Hit the beaches along the Gulf Coast now that the spill is over!

by Vacation Rentals 4. August 2010 09:57

We have two pieces of good news along the Gulf Coast today.  First, the leaky well is being plugged successfully with BP's "Static Kill" effort and second, ther US Government released a report saying that most of the oil is already gone -- it's been cleaned up or decomposed.  Read the full article from Yahoo! here.

The implication of course is that it's now safe to come visit the Gulf Coast.  Of course, many of y'all already knew that and didn't really need the government to tell you!

Please consider visiting this wonderful part of the country.  If you do come, enjoy the amenities of home and more space than a hotel by renting a condo. Visit http://www.abetterstay.com to view the Web's largest selection of professionally managed Condos along the Gulf Coast.

Have a great day.

by ABetterStay 10. June 2010 08:55

Perhaps the best cancel policy in the Gulf right now for consumers who are concerned about the oil spill comes from Holiday Isle Properties.  This Destin-based property manager features luxury condo and home rentals in the Destin area.  Many of the 1BR, 2BR, 3BR and 4BR units are ocean facing, right on the beach.  Holiday Isle is offering consumers a Clean Beach Guarantee.  Here is their policy:

We get a 3 day forecast every day - if the beaches are closed or the water is deemed unsafe for your arrival then a full refund will be issued.  At this time - we have experienced no oil of any type.  We posted the video below daily.  We will notify everyone immediately if oil is expected to impact their stay.  We appreciate everyone’s patience in this regard.

As of Thursday June 10th, there is no oil on the beach in Destin!  Here is a YouTube video showing the beautiful clean beach!

Fla. Beaches Looking Good for Holiday Weekend!

by ABetterStay 27. May 2010 15:11

Lots of Oil Spill activity to report on today, May 27th.  First, BP has been attempting their "Top Kill" Maneuver where they pump mud into the well in order to stem the flow of hydrocarbons.  As of 6:30PM Eastern, they have suspended the activity temporarily to study data and see if it is working as well as they expected.  We'll see.  In other news, NOAA is forecasting winds from the North for the next several days, which means that the winds will blow any smells impacting Alabama and Mississippi beaches out to sea.

Meanwhile, in North West Florida the beaches are clear and the long Memorial Day weekend should be a good one!. It is a great time to come visit the beautiful beaches of NW Flordia.  Please consider supporting the local businesses in NW Florida by rentind a vacation rental or condo or staying in one of our beachfront hotels.  You can find great deals in Destin, Ft. Walton, or Panama City. Make your reservation today.
