Great Summer Events in Mammoth Lakes, CA

by ABetterStay 9. May 2010 21:13

Summer is almost upon us in Mammoth Lakes, CA!  This past winter was epic. I mean truly EPIC in terms of snowfall.  We will be skiing thru June, it appears.  However, even though you can come up here and ski in the early Summer months, you should also know that there are lots of other great things to do in the area when the weather is warm.  First of all, it's FISHING SEASON!  The heavy snows and winter rains have left creeks swollen with run-off.  There will be large volumes of water flowing down our major riviers, which means you should use a guide service if you want to find the best spots and best flies to use on the Owens or at Hat Creek or any of the hundreds of other great fishing spots that you can access from Mammoth. There are many great events coming our way this Summer.  One that you might enjoy is the Mammoth Motocross, happening from June 17 to 27, 2010.  If Motocross isn't your thing, how about bird watching at Mono Lake?  There are plenty of fun activities, such as fun runs, golf charity events and triathalons and even triathalon camps! So, get ready for some summer time fun in Mammoth Lakes.  Of course, while you are up here, you will eat well at our great restaurants and of course, breathe our fresh clean mountain air! Make your reservation for your Mammoth family vacation today.

California lodging options are as diverse as the residents of this legendary state.  Depending on what type of vacation you want to have, you can stay in anything from a hotel to a motel to a condo to a rental.  It all depends on what part of the state you’re in and what you’re hoping to get out of your trip.  There are certain benefits to every type of lodging as well.

Lodges and condos offer guests a chance to experience all the comforts of home with all the service one would expect from a world class hotel.  Lodges and condos often offer great group rates for their larger rooms and in many cases are actually a budget conscious alternative over regular hotels.  Lodges and condos are more typically seen in the skiing areas of California.  Place like Granlibakken Lodge or Lagonita Lodge Vacation Rental and Condos are beautiful lodges located in amazing landscapes perfect for skiers.
